Employment Matters at Greenwood School Board Meeting

-The Greenwood School Board discussed employment matters at their meeting on Monday.The board approved the resignations of Lisa Hansen and Jessica Borowski as SPED and 4K Teacher Assistants and they approved the hiring of Seth Vollrath and Dani Belich as SPED Teacher Assistants. The 4K Teacher Assistant position was also posted. The board also accepted the Educator Effectiveness Grant for $3200 and the TEACH Grant for $7500. The board also discussed the condition of the monument school sign-efflorescence, surface cracking and damaged letters and they approved a plan to address these issues. A playground update was presented during the principal’s report.
The board also received a review of student performance on state assessments. Administration shared areas of concern and presented steps that are underway to improve student performance. The administration will also develop a flow chart to assist in decision-making for clubs and organizations. Finally, the board reviewed the policies included in the 26-1 Update as a 1st reading and reviewed the draft of a parent letter regarding the ALICE training.
