Committee Reports at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard several committee reports at their meeting on Tuesday.

During the Public Works Portion of the meeting, they heard the Public Works Director’s Report. The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery and parks maintenance, equipment maintenance, trimming and pruning trees, street sweeping, filling pot holes and more. They’re continuing to work on maintaining street lighting, including working on repairs to the decorative poles downtown. All paving is complete for the year as is all traffic control line painting. They’re continuing to work on Ash Tree removal to fight the Emerald Ash Borer and leaf pick up will not start until mid-October.

The council also heard the Historic Preservation Commission report from their meeting on September 25th. They commission postponed their fall cemetery tour until 2018, they approved getting prices for 200-300 calendars for 2018, discussed the Historical & Architectural Tour Brochures, the approved reimbursing a member up to $100 for ink and approved to keep their budget at $1,900 for 2018.
