Thursday, September 28th, 2017 -- 11:14 AM
-The Neillsville City Council approved a sewer rate increase at their meeting on Tuesday.Back in August, it was decided that a sewer rate increase was needed to meet the continued cost of running the plant and providing necessary services. It was decided a 5% increase was needed, which will bring in an estimated $29,319 per year in revenues. Depending on the service, the increases will be as low as a nickel to as high as just shy of $5.
The council also approved a bid from the business Hydro Clean on lining Grand Avenue and possibly W. 21st Street with sewer lines. The cost for just over 2,300 feet of pipeline will come to just over $56,000. Both of these items were first discussed and approved during the Public Works portion of the meeting before they were approved during the regular City Council Meeting.
