Greenwood School Board's Annual Meeting

-The Greenwood School Board held their Annual Meeting Monday evening.After hearing a report from District Administrator Todd Felhofer on the 2017-18 proposed budget, the board approved a tax levy of $2,183,132 for the General Fund, including energy exemption, and a tax levy of $10,000 for the Community Service Fund. Greenwood's mil rate will decrease this year from $11.13 to $10.35. The board also had a lengthy discussion on their pay. A motion was made for board members to be paid per meeting as opposed to salaried. However, that motion was defeated and the salary pay of $1,670 for the Board President and $1,370 for other members was approved. That was a $50 increase from last year.
Finally, the board approved a $125 per diem for board members, authorized the sale of obsolete school district property, authorized the board to acquire real estate and authorized the sale of school property, even though there are no plans to do so.
