Clark County Board September Meeting Report

Saturday, September 23rd, 2017 -- 9:13 AM

The Clark County Board of Supervisors began their meeting on Thursday with a couple reports.

The board heard the 2016 Annual Social Services Report. They also heard the Economic Development Annual Report. An election was held for the Highway Commissioner as well.

The board then approved a resolution approving the Clark County’s Farmland Preservation Plan. The plan was first adopted in 1982 and has since expired. The county must have a certified plan meet requirements of a Wisconsin Statute. The plan consists of goals and policies for preserving farmland and the agricultural economy in the county over the next 15 years. It includes items like allowing landowners to receive an income tax credit for voluntarily agreeing to maintain their land in agriculture and encourages wise soil management.

The board also approved a resolution approving an earlier date for their November meeting. Due to county and state taxes due to the Wisconsin Department of Revenue on November 15th, the date of their regular meeting, November 14th, won’t work. So, the board approved moving their November meeting to November 9th.
