Clark County Tourism Committee Discusses Many Topics

-The Clark County Tourism Committee discussed a wide variety of topics at their meeting Wednesday afternoon.The committee discussed their current event, the Harvest Moon Fall Tour, which is going on now and ends October 8th. They also talked about some projects that have been in the pipeline that they’d like to finish including Barns of Clark County, Barn Quilts of Clark County, Clark County’s Ghost Towns and signage for vacant store fronts in communities. They also talked about ways to market the hunting season in the county. They heard an update from the Forestry and Parks Department and discussed the county sales tax and unemployment numbers.
Finally, the discussed the events for next year, including the Spring Art Tour, Bloomin’ Greenhouses and Harvest Moon tour, and whether they want to continue them as is or make some changes. Finally, the discussed a shop local campaign and holiday marketing campaign as well.
