Neillsville City Council Denies Insurance Claim

-The Neillsville City Council denied an insurance claim brought against the city at their meeting on Tuesday.A claim for damages was brought against the city from an individual who claims his vehicle was damaged after driving over a bad spot of road on E. Fifteenth Street. The city’s insurance said the council should deny the claim, which they did. The individual will now have to decide if he wants to file a lawsuit against the city. The council also accepted the retirement of Jeff Pokallus and Trudy Gripentrog from the Neillsville Police Department. Jeff has worked with the department for 29 years and will be officially done on February 6th. Trudy has worked with the department for 39 years and will be officially done on February 9th.
The council then approved sending the hiring process to fill those two positon to the necessary committees. Finally, the council approved increasing the size of the Heritage Days Committee from 9 members to 11. Due to the size and scope of Heritage Days, more committee members are needed.
