Greenwood School Board Approves Several Items

-The Greenwood School Board discussed several topics at their meeting on Monday.The board received a recap of the Summer School program. They also received an update on students enrolled in Youth Options course with 19 Seniors and 8 Juniors taking college level courses this year. The board also approved the 25-2 NEOLA policies updates, approved the EDGAR policies updates and they received an update on the ALICE training the staff took part in before school started. The training was well received by staff and the district will be looking to provide additional training to staff, provide parents with information on this training and then provide initial training for students.
Finally, the board received an update on current staffing with all teaching positions currently filled and, due to student numbers, the district is looking at the possible hiring of a SPED assistant. The district also heard some concerns from community members about Greenwood’s Homecoming.
