Marshfield School Board Approves Extending Contract

(WDLB) -Marshfield school officials are extending a contract with the Stevens Point firm that's planning and designing a major upgrade and expansion of the district's athletic facilities.The Marshfield Board of Education voted unanimously last night in favor of a contract with the Rettler Corporation to continue the design phase of more than 10-million dollars’ worth of improvements. Board member Amber Kiggens-Leifheit said the latest contract with Rettler totals nearly 149-thousand dollars. And she said it's necessary so that fundraising efforts for the athletic improvements can start.
And Kiggens-Leifheit said nearly 13-thousand of that contract has already been paid, making the total 136-thousand. The contract will cover such things as preparing preliminary facility design drawings, meeting with the city of Marshfield staff to determine permitting criteria, storm water management, addressing traffic and other infrastructure concerns, and preparing an initial environmental assessment.
