Walk-In Applications for Heating Assistance Begin October 1st

-Clark County Department of Social Services will be taking walk-in applications for the Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program for the 2017-2018 heating season starting October 1st.Approximately 1,265 households were assisted last heating season. Appointments will be managed on a first come, first served basis, but do not call for an appointment. Walk-in dates will be every Tuesday and Thursday, October through December at the Clark County Courthouse in Neillsville. They’ll also have walk-in dates available in Owen at the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center every Friday in October and every other Friday in November and December.
You will need to provide documentation for all household gross income for the last 3 months, driver’s license (if have not applied before), and a heating and electric bill. Income for people who are self-employed, farmers, or seasonal workers is based on federal income tax forms for the previous year, 2016. For Clark County residents who are age 60 or older, the Clark County Aging Department will assist with application completion starting October 1.
