-A Marshfield woman charged with scamming a man out of $7,500 for a Chevy Chevelle she never delivered was sentenced in Wood County Court on Thursday.According to court records, back in 2015, Angel Dupee placed an ad on Craigslist selling a 1970 Chevy Chevelle. A man in Alabama agreed to pay for the vehicle and deposited the money into a bank account. However, the man never received the vehicle and authorities became aware that Dupee and her husband were getting other people to send money for the vehicle as well.
Dupee was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, theft through false representation. She was sentenced to 3 years’ probation with a condition of 45 days jail time. She also owes the courts $1,174.80. She’ll be back in court in December for a restitution hearing.
