New Ag Teachers/FFA Advisors at Many School Districts

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Now that school has started, local high schools have finalized their teaching rosters for the 2017-18 academic year.State FFA Director Cheryl Zimmerman says over 40 schools have teaching changes in their agriculture education programs this fall. "There are a lot of changes in agriculture instructors/FFA advisors at various departments across Wisconsin for the new school year," Zimmerman said. "Many are new teachers. Others are teachers that have moved to a different school."
Some changes at local schools include Colby is now taught by Taylor Halopka, Greenwood is taught by Loghan Hallet, Pittsville is taught by Lindsay Meissner, Thorp is taught by Matt Christian and Unity is taught by Lisa Jagielo. The Department of Public Instruction says ag class participation and individual FFA membership in the state has been on the rise over the past several years.
