Stepping On for Falls Prevention Workshops at Memorial Medical Center

Tuesday, September 5th, 2017 -- 10:07 AM

-Stepping On for Falls Prevention Workshops will be offered this fall at Memorial Medical Center in the Manz Conference Room.

The workshop will be held for seven consecutive Tuesdays beginning September 12th and ending October 24th from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Stepping On helps you to build confidence in your ability to manage your falls risks. The workshop has proven to reduce your risks of falls by up to 50%. In just seven weeks you can be stronger and steadier wherever you go, and keep doing the things you want to do. In the workshop series you will learn to identify and remove fall hazards from your home, to see and avoid fall hazards out in the community, to get back on your feet the right way if you fall, how vision and hearing affect your risk of falling, to use walking aids the right way, to choose safe footwear for all your activities, strength and balance you can adapt to your individual level, and how medications play a role in your risks of falls.

The Stepping On Workshops are sponsored by WIHA-Wisconsin Institute for Healthy Aging, ADRC of Clark County, Security Health Plan, and Memorial Medical Center. To register, call the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Clark County at 715-743-5144.
