Cadott Man Sentenced for 6th OWI

-A Cadott man arrested for drinking and driving with his child in the car was sentenced for the incident in Clark County Court last week.Back in September of last year, deputies from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office stopped Michael Hazard Sr. for traveling 78 mph in a 55 mph zone on CTH O, here in Clark County. In the vehicle with Michael was his 10 year old child. Michael admitted to drinking and had an odor of an intoxicant on his breath. He tried to perform standardized field sobriety exercises but failed. Hazard pleaded guilty to 6th OWI with a passenger under 16 in the vehicle and a charge of 6th operating with a PAC with a passenger under 16 in the vehicle was dismissed on the prosecutor’s motion.
He was sentenced to 4 years of extended supervision, 3 years of probation with 12 months of conditional jail time and an imposed and stayed prison sentence of 3 years. He also had his license revoked for 48 months and will have an ignition interlock device for 48 months. Finally, he owes the courts $1,152.
