Neillsville School Board Discusses Employment, Hears Administrator's Report

The Neillsville School Board discussed employment matters at their meeting on Monday.The board approved the contract for Matthew Hessel for an elementary teacher position, the contract for Julia Backaus for the 7-12 counselor position, the Memorandum of Understanding for Jessica Brown, the Memorandum of Understanding for Matthew Hessel, changes to the Certified Staff Handbook for the 2017-2018 school year as presented and the contract for Scott Schiller for the elementary principal position.
The board also heard a report from District Administrator John Gaier. He reported on a thank you note, a thank you letter from NACC for support of the dairy breakfast, information on WASB’s regional meetings, an article from Portage welcoming Tim Rueth, an article regarding the closing of the Fairchild Elementary School and policies that govern the CWETN Network. He also reported on information on the Future Ready Schools Program, examples of information being shared at the annual meeting, an article about a tax shift from large retail businesses to residential property, an article regarding the Florida education system and two Focus articles.
