Neillsville School Board Update
Thursday, August 24th, 2017 -- 10:17 AM
The Neillsville School Board approved a shared program with the Marshfield School District. At their meeting on Monday, the board approved an agreement to be a part of the Marshfield School District’s SEARCH Program. This program is for kids with special needs, primarily kids 18 and older. This program teaches students with disabilities about independent living and job skills. The total cost of the program is $7,705, but that amount is divided by the total number of students enrolled, which is 12 for the next school year.
The board also approved a donation from Harder Built Construction. Harder Built recently held a fundraiser to help pay for delinquent lunch accounts at the school district. They brought in a total of $900 from the event, so that money was accepted by the board and will help pay down the 110 delinquent accounts at the district that totals $2,200. The board appreciates the donation, but in the future, Harder Built needs to get permission from the board to do a fundraiser in their name.
