(WDLB) -A Marshfield woman is facing identity theft charges while working at Figi’s, Incorporated.20-year-old Savannah Zimmermann has been charged with ten felony counts of misappropriating identification information. The charges stem from multiple transactions in August of last year, which caught the attention of Figi’s management, who then called police. A Figi’s staff member said the company’s credit card department had flagged multiple orders that were shipped to an address other than the paying customers’ billing addresses. All orders were being shipped to the same Marshfield location. A criminal complaint said the address was Zimmermann’s. She denied using the customers’ credit card information at first. But she was still fired. And as Marshfield Police continued to investigate, she continued to deny using the stolen credit card information. That’s when officers noticed the names of several of the identity theft victims on packages in Zimmermann’s apartment.
That’s when Zimmermann admitted to placing multiple orders without the credit card owners’ permission. She also turned over a binder with information on more than 400 customers. She is being charged with ten counts of Misappropriating Identification Information to Obtain Money, which could result in a 10-thousand dollar fine, and six years in prison for each count.
