Owen-Withee School Board Hears Budget Information

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard information on the next school year’s budget at their meeting last week.District Administrator Bob Houts shared with the board that there has not been much movement on the budget in Madison for the past month or so. The Foxconn project seems to have distracted legislators from completing the budget. Mr. Houts also showed the board the impact of various proposals would have on the tax levy and mil rate.
The board also heard the district’s Academic and Career Plan. By the fall of 2017, state law requires each school district in Wisconsin to have an Academic and Career Plan in place. The district plan was shared with the board who reviewed it and asked questions. On a unanimous voice vote the board approved the plan which will be placed on the district’s web site.
