Neillsville City Council Report

The Neillsville City Council heard several reports and updates at their meeting on Tuesday.The board heard the public works report. The usual amount of work was done in the city including street sweeping, cleaning storm drains, maintaining street lighting, filling pot holes, cemetery and parks maintenance, equipment maintenance, water main flushing and more. Also, they discussed the licensing issue they’re having at the Sewer Plant with the DNR and how to fix it. And they were given information about the city’s Sewer Rate as that will be on the agenda for the next council meeting. They also heard about a claim from a resident that fell in the city.
The council heard a public health update. They heard about the liquor licenses, some cat problems being resolved, an issue with roaches, the Merchant’s Hotel, lead paint and multiple little complaints that were resolved. Finally, the heard the report from the Commission on Economic Development meeting held on August 1st and adopted the guidelines with updated verbiage regarding economic grants and loans
