Man Arrested for Human Trafficking Appears in Eau Claire County Court

One of two people facing human trafficking charges appeared in Eau Claire County Court on Tuesday.

According to court records, Mark Scoville and Catherine Ottinger are being charged multiple counts of sexual assault, possession and human trafficking after an investigation reveladed that Scoville would provide drugs to women in exchange for sexaul favors.

He would often sexually assault the women by drugging them or would simply refuse to stop when they said no. During his preliminary hearing on Tuesday, probable cause was found, so his court proceedings will continue.  A future court date hasn’t been set at this time.
