Madison Man Killed in One Vehicle Accident Near Black River Falls

-A Madison man was killed in a one vehicle accident near Black River Falls on Thursday.According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, around 1am on Thursday, a crash occurred on Highway 54 at the I-94 ramp in Jackson County near Black River Falls. Upon the patrol’s arrival it was discovered the lone occupant and driver, a 21 year old male from Madison, was deceased. An initial investigation indicates the vehicle was originally on Highway 54 and attempted to turn onto the I-94 ramp, traveled sideways into the gore area, went air born over the eastbound lanes of I-94, landed on the guardrail in the median, traveled across the west bound lanes and rolled into the westbound gore area.
The name of the driver is being withheld pending notification of the family. The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol. Assisting agencies included Black River Falls Police Department and Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.
