Administrators' Reports at Greenwood School Board Meeting

Friday, July 14th, 2017 -- 8:04 AM

-The Greenwood School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting on Monday.

District Administrator Todd Felhofer reported on state items regarding schools. State budget deliberations continue and funding for schools looks somewhat positive. The budget is being held up by the disagreement over transportation funding and the initial 2017-18 general aid estimate for the district is up 5.22%. Summer School wraps up today and programs have been well attended and well received. The district did not receive a 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant, so other options will be explored to start-up an afterschool program. Summer maintenance and cleaning is also going strong.

The district property and casualty insurance premium quote is $3000 less for 2017-18. Information was provided to the board regarding adding Cyber Protection coverage. This will be an agenda item for August. The District Policy Manual updates process has begun and the board was provided recent updates to review prior to discussion at the August meeting. The board was also provided requested information on the Supplemental Compensation plan. Finally, one board member reported on CESA 10 and another presented to the board initial information regarding the development of Board/District goals for 2017-18.
