This was the meeting that approved the amendment to the property on Division Street from residential to commercial, which the council approved during the meeting. They also heard the Heritage Days Committee Report from June 29th, just before Heritage Days was held. They discussed Miss Neillsville, movie night, the golf outing, Business After 5, kids games, prizes and more. Some other items brought up during the meeting included some information on the Clark County Taxi Service, which will change slightly, Heritage Days was successful , the Car Show is this weekend and the city’s budget looks good with the exception of the overtime line in the Police Department. The cause of that were the numerous cases involving the Transitions Home.

They also heard the Public Works report. The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery and parks maintenance, equipment maintenance, trimming and pruning trees, street sweeping, cleaning storm inlets, maintain street lighting and more. They’re working on Prospect Street, the water wells have been rehabilitated, FEMA has September flood damage reports and water main flushing will start on Monday and last around 2 weeks. It was also mentioned that financially, water is holding its own and sewer is struggling a little bit.
