Policy Issues at Greenwood School Board Meeting

-The Greenwood School Board discussed policy issues at their meeting on Monday.The board discussed the “communication from the public” guidelines on the agenda, but no action was taken. The board moved to remove the guidelines from the agenda and include the guidelines on the Public Comment sign-up sheet. The guidelines will be read by the Board President prior to public comments. The board also approved the Volunteer and Chaperone Handbook, reviewed the Athletic Coaches & Advisors Handbook with possible action at the August meeting and they approved the 2017-18 “Use of Space Agreement” with Clark County Services.
The board also heard an update on current staffing with all positions currently filled. They also approved the addition of Volunteer Firefighter/EMT Leave and Organ Donor Leave to the Professional and Support Staff Handbooks. They discussed possible changes in the Emergency Leave language, but no action taken. They may take action on the item at their August meeting. Finally, the board approved the Professional and Support Staff Handbooks and approved the Teacher Mentoring and Coaching Handbook.
