Committee Reports at Neillsville City Council Meeting
Saturday, July 1st, 2017 -- 6:18 AM
-The Neillsville City Council heard several committee reports at their meeting on Tuesday.During a Fire Hall Board meeting on June 15th, they elected their officers and assigned them to various committees. They also heard about some work done at the station and on the new van. It was also stated the department is going to purchase an iPad for training and the cost of their insurance on the building went up. The council also heard the Neillsville Public Library Board meeting report from June 20th. New circulation is in place and length of loan time is being discussed. Roof repairs are needed, some events were mentioned and the library has seen excellent circulation.
Finally, the council heard the Public Works Report. The usual amount of work was done in the city including equipment maintenance, cemetery and park maintenance, trimming and pruning trees, street sweeping, mowing, cleaning storm inlets, filling pot holes, flushing sewer mains and more. Residents are reminded, again, not to mow your grass into the street. Hauling brush and compost isn’t a priority for the department right now, so residents are on their own in that regard. Wells and booster continue to have some work done. And residents are reminded, again, not to dump gas, oil, paint and other chemicals down the sewer as it causes severe problems at the plant.
