Achievement Gap Reduction Report at Neillsville School Board Meeting
Thursday, June 29th, 2017 -- 8:03 AM
-The Neillsville School Board heard the Achievement Gap Reduction Plan at their meeting on Monday. The purpose of the Achievement Gap Reduction Program is to keep students at grade level or beyond in math and reading. Neillsville has been successful for the most part in that regard, with most students where they need to be. However, not all students were and the report helps teachers and administration look at ways to get kids to that point. Options include smaller class sizes, more one-on-one student to teacher time and more.
The board also discussed employment matters. The board approved the hiring of Joseph Pagenkopf for a bus driver position, Brian Friemoth for a custodial position, Samantha Plasch for an elementary art teaching position, Jordan Jacobsen for a middle school football coaching position and Tim Voigt for the head volleyball coaching position. The board also approved the resignation of Kristin Peterson from her business education teaching position, Randi Stanley from her prom co-advisor position, Marcy Kunze from her prom co-advisor position and Ed Schoen from his assistant wrestling coaching position.
