Neillsville School Board Approves Several Donations

-The Neillsville School Board accepted several donations at their meeting on Monday.The board approved a donation of milk and yogurt for the Summer Meal Program from the Neillsville Chamber of Commerce that was left over from the Dairy Breakfast. The board also accepted a donation from the Neillsville Booster Club for painting done and new scoreboards in the gym. They also approved a donation of $38,000 from the Listeman Foundation for middle school gym upgrades. The board also approved the Neillsville Youth Baseball Association to move forward with some improvements to the baseball field.
The association is going to purchase a new scoreboard for the field at a cost of $31,000 and they want to build a new press box at a cost of $22,000. They already have $20,000 allocated towards the project and will be looking into other possible funding sources including grants, foundations and more. They will also find volunteering willing to donate time and labor to the projects and the scoreboard will have room for advertisers. The board also agreed to provide some funds when the budget is approved at the district’s annual meeting. The board also approved allowing the district administrator to make investments in the next school year.
