Kids of Wisconsin Bring Music Tour to Marshfield

(WDLB) -The Kids from Wisconsin took its annual summer musical tour to Marshfield last night.The musical troupe of 20 singers and dancers and a 13-piece show band performed its 2017 "Head Out On the Highway" concert last night, at the Marshfield High School Fieldhouse. The performance was the group's third stop on a summer-long tour of the state, with two stops outside Wisconsin as well. And it was a return home for stage band member Katelyn Gauerke of Marshfield, who's one of four trumpet players on this year's tour.
Katelyn will be a senior this fall at Marshfield High School. She was one of over 300 kids to audition for the group back in February. And she says this year's concert is a high-energy show featuring a wide variety of music. The Kids from Wisconsin will be performing statewide through mid-August, and will be back in central Wisconsin next month, with shows in Wisconsin Rapids and Stevens Point July 17th and 20th. Both of those stops will include workshops during the day for younger students. In August, the group will be featured at the Wisconsin State Fair, which is where it all began in 1969.
