A group of independent craft beverage producers in Wisconsin have announced the formation of a new non-profit trade association.The purposes of the Wisconsin Craft Beverage Coalition is to promote, protect and defend the state's craft beverage industry. The founding members of the group include leaders of several trade associations that collectively represent over 300 small and independent businesses that contribute over $2 billion to the state's economy. The Wisconsin Winery Association, Wisconsin Brewers Guild, and the Wisconsin Distillers Guild are charter members of the organization.
Organizers say that by uniting the small breweries, wineries and distilleries from across the state, the coalition will serve as a unified voice to help educate policy makers about the importance of the local craft beverage sector. The group formally announced their charter on Wednesday at the State Capitol in Madison. (AP)
