The Granton Village Board Heard Clerk's Report
Saturday, June 24th, 2017 -- 6:51 AM
The Granton Village Board heard the Clerk’s Report at their meeting last week.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the clerk attended the League of Municipalities training and several items were discussed. The village has been fortunate enough to be assigned several Work Force Development employees and they are helping in various positions.
The audit is complete and questions remain regarding the TID and the PE-300 report.
The clerk attended the Library board meeting. The Library Board is attempting to update the Library By-Laws and Policies. The library is currently operating under Sampson Memorial Library bi-laws. Discrepancies regarding the Bylaws and the Agreement between the Village and the School have been noted as this process gets underway. It is the Library Board’s belief that the Library Board pre-empts any agreement made between the Village of Granton Board and the school.
The clerk advised that the Library Director used the village’s tax ID number and signed a contract for a copier. This was brought to light when the Village received a bill from Wells Fargo and a copy of a Management Agreement signed by the Library Director. The village president was made aware when the bill was received. The copier is housed at the school and the contract should be placed under the school tax ID number. The clerk spoke to Chuck Buckel, school administrator, and he will take the lead on getting this corrected.
