Feedom Celebration Day at The Highground Tomorrow

-Bring the family to The Highground Veterans Park on Saturday, June 24th for Freedom Celebration Day.There will be a full day of exciting exhibits, food by Hardee’s, poetry, music and fireworks! A WWII Living History will be presented near The Highground large vehicle parking area on Ridge Road. The Learning Center will be open with artist, David Giffey’s, exhibit, “Long Shadow: Memories of Vietnam”. Weather permitting, The Highground’s Big Maps of the Vietnam War and the Persian Gulf (Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Afghanistan) will be available for veterans and Gold Star families to sign. There will also be an Agent Orange display for Vietnam veterans and families affected by Agent Orange to sign.
Free audio guides are available for visitors to use in touring The Highground at their own pace throughout the day. Hardee’s will have a food tent open from 4pm throughout the rest of the afternoon and evening’s activities and poetry is planned to be presented on the Plaza. The Annual Highground Fireworks display, sponsored by Hardee's and presented by the Neillsville Fire Department and Kevin Witt, will begin at dusk. This is one of the earliest and largest fireworks displays in the area. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets. There is free admission to all displays, performances & fireworks!
