Administrators' Reports at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting last week.Jr/SR High Dean of Student Julie VanArk reported on the end of year grading and report cards, the start of summer school, the recruiting efforts of staff to get kids interested in the August session of summer school and the RtI program that will get started this fall. District Administrator Bob Houts reported on notification that the district, in conjunction with CVTC, will be receiving a National Science Foundation grant to keep the manufacturing trailer coming to Owen-Withee for three more years.
He also notified the board that the district has been awarded a Wisconsin Technology Initiative grant for $23,000 to purchase Smart panels and laptops/Chromebooks for the elementary school. He also presented memo from the SAA/WASB/WiRSA that encouraged lawmakers to support both the Governor’s budget proposal for increased public school spending, as well as the Assembly’s plan. He presented what impact each plan would have on the District and the taxpayers.
