Library Update at Granton Village Board Meeting

-The Granton Village Board heard a Library Update at their meeting last week.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the Library Director explained the summer hours and some fun upcoming events like the Remarkable Reptiles and the Annual Book Sale. The Annual, Joint Committee Library Board meeting will be held on August 7th. This annual meeting will include representatives from The School Board, The Village Board and the Library Board. Circulation is remaining steady. The library now has 3 mobile hot spots that are available to check out. Also available for checkout are adventure backpacks.
The board also heard the Water Report. Samples will be taken and send out next week. Meters will be read early this quarter as the clerk is on vacation the end of June. An attempt to record readings on the cell phone will be made. Finally, the board heard the Waste Water Report. An employee has taken and passed the Waste Water Certification course and is now officially certified. Superior completed the crack sealing in town. The energy bill at the treatment pond is costing the village $1000 per month and the board discussed options for cost savings. The village will check what amps the motors are currently pulling to see if there are any options there.
