Greenwood Native Signs First Baseball Pro Contract

-The Gary SouthShore RailCats announced the signing of Greenwood native Westin Wuethrich to his first pro contract on Monday evening.The RailCats are part of the the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball which is an independent professional baseball league. The league operates mostly in cities not served by MLB teams or their minor league affiliates.
Wuethrich was named Third Team All-Midwest Region as a senior at UW-Whitewater, going 5-1 with a 3.34 ERA in 11 games (nine starts) as a senior. Wuethrich struck out 81 batters and walked just 18 in 64.2 innings.
Westin was the winning pitcher for the 2013 Division 4 State Champion Greenwood Indians.
