Marshfield Clinic Health System Foundation Exceeds Campaign Goal
Tuesday, May 25th, 2021 -- 11:02 AM
The Marshfield Clinic Health System Foundation has met their campaign goal to fund an infusion suite and wellness center at the new Neillsville campus.
The goal for the campaign was $1,750,000 and the campaign has raised $1,872,749. A generous gift from Miron Construction helped put the Foundation over the top.
Due to the donations, the Clark County community has provided chemotherapy and other infusion services, as well as, a brand new wellness center for the community to benefit from for years to come. All of the additional funds raised will be used to support MMC-Neillsville.
Two priorities, where some of the funds are already being spent, were identified. With the extra funds, MMC-Neillsville has acquired a robotic telehealth cart. A robotic cart can go directly into patient rooms, and connect with physicians such as specialists and hospitalists from other Marshfield Clinic centers.
For example, hospitalists from Marshfield will be able to round with each patient at MMC-Neillsville independently as well as support the NP Hospitalist in Neillsville. The robot has been lovingly named Wendell.
In addition to the robot, the additional funds raised will be used to enhance the pediatric spaces in the new facility. Their goal will be to create a welcoming, comfortable, and healing environment for their littlest patients while reducing their stress and anxiety when they visit MMC-Neillsville.
The MCHS Art Director has outfitted the pediatric rooms with some adorable artwork and, with a little bit of added design and paint, they can create an environment the kids will love. They will also be able to purchase some age appropriate distraction items for the kids.
Wall mounted toy modules are great for toddlers and will be installed in the pediatric exam rooms. In addition, two electronic Touch2Plays will be purchased for the ER and hospital. The Touch2Play can be used by everyone from age 3 up to teens and even adults.
A variety of fun and exciting games and activities are installed on the device. This can help reduce stress, anxiety, and boredom for patients and families in waiting areas and patient rooms.
They will continue to accept gifts to the campaign for the next couple of months, allowing those who see the facility for the first time to be part of this campaign and recognized on the donor wall.
Whenever a new facility opens up, unexpected needs arise. Additional gifts to the campaign will ensure that we are able to fund those needs. All gifts will stay local to MMC-Neillsville.
