Owen-Withee School Board Discusses Staff Negotiations

-The Owen-Withee School Board discussed negotiations with the district staff union.District Administrator Bob Houts informed the board that negotiations regarding base wage and total wage increases are on hold until the district knows what the 2017-19 biennial budget looks like. The OWEA had asked about negotiations status and Mr. Houts informed them that the board wants to wait until they see what, if any, increase the district will see in its funding.
The board also reviewed and discussed Policy 763 which deals with School Lunch Fees. The policy includes how money is collected, the process for using those funds in the meal program, what happens if a family’s balance gets low or goes in the negative and how they will notify parents of the policy. The board will do a second reading in July when the policy will become official.
