Loyal Woman Sentenced for Possession and Child Neglect

-A Loyal woman charged with possession and child neglect after her home was declared hazardous has been sentenced for the incident.Back in November, Nicole Peterson was charged with possession of narcotic drugs and neglecting a child after the home she was living in with her father and young child had the overwhelming odor of feces. Investigators found drug paraphernalia and unmarked pill bottles in the home as well as a knife and firearm on the floor. Peterson’s father was also cited for keeping two raccoons as pets. The animals were described as ragged and had overflowing litter boxes.
During her plea/sentencing hearing on Friday, Peterson was found guilty, due to a no contest plea, of possession of narcotic drugs and neglecting a child. Three other charges were dismissed and read in. She was sentenced to 24 months’ probation and she owes the courts $194. Peterson’s father is facing possession of child pornography charges and will be in court next month.
