Committee Reports at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard several reports at their meeting on Tuesday.They heard two Heritage Days Committee reports. One was from Thursday, June 1st and the other from Thursday, June 8th. They discussed security, the movie for movie night, posters, the golf outing, the parade, Miss Neillsville, signs, lights, food and more. They also heard a report from the Commission on Economic Development meeting from Monday, June 12th. This was the meeting that recommended the council approve a request from The Highground. They also discussed the grant guidelines. They heard an Airport Commission report as well. That meeting occurred just before the regular Common Council meeting. This was the meeting that approved recommending to the council the use of the airport for EVOC training and to paint their fuel storage tank.
The council also heard the Public Works Report. The usual amount of work was done in the city including equipment maintenance, parks and cemetery cleaning/maintenance, trimming/pruning trees, street sweeping, cleaning storm inlets, maintain street lighting, filling pot holes and more. Again, city residents are asked to not blow their grass into the streets when they mow. Also, the department asks that you do not dump gas, oils, paints, solvents lubricants or petroleum based products into the sewer as it can cause major damage to the city’s plant. Ash tree removal has also begun and well 3 is in the process of full rehabilitation.
