A Sewer Rate Study and More at Neillsville's City Council Meeting

Friday, June 16th, 2017 -- 9:08 AM

-The Neillsville City Council approved several items at their meeting on Tuesday.

The city approved a Sewer Rate Study. The city is required to do this every three years. The cost is $4,000. The council also approved allowing Dylan’s Den close down a portion of West Street for a fundraiser they’re doing to raise funds for a woman with breast cancer. The event is being held June 19th from 3pm-9pm. The city agreed to this as a one-time special event, but said in the future the facility will have to host their events in a park. Otherwise, they’d be getting requests every other week for street closures for fundraisers and that’s not good for businesses.

Also, at the beginning of the meeting, the council heard an appearance from Kirk Rodman of The Highground. After 19 years, Kirk and his wife Nancy will be leaving The Highground in their leadership roles and moving on to another chapter in their lives. Kirk informed the council on where The Highground is today and thanked the city for all of their support over the years. He also talked about the foot traffic The Highground helps bring into the Neillsville and surrounding areas.
