Memorial Medical Center Foundation Has Successful Golf Outing

Thursday, June 15th, 2017 -- 9:05 AM

-On Friday, June 9th, 44 men from the community participated in a golf outing at the Neillsville County Club benefiting local health care.

The Memorial Medical Center Foundation held the event as a fundraiser to help the medical center purchase new equipment to be used in our diabetic/nutritional services departments. One item that will be purchased is a body composition scale that will be used by MMC’s Dietician to assess not only the weight of patients, but also to evaluate muscle gains and BMI, and assess health risk factors associated with weight. The new scale will also be used at MMC’s Commit to be Fit Clinic, and new initiative to help patients that suffer with weight loss issues.

“Our golf outing was a success because of the dedicated and generous support we received from our community members and from our sponsors” commented Shelley Janke, Foundation Director.

In total, over $14,000.00 was raised for the new diabetic equipment. The first and second place teams of the golf outing received trophies. First place went to the team consisting of Bruce Vandeberg, Shane Giacomino, Aaron Wanish, and Jason Bourget. Second place went to the team of Mark Sydorowicz, Tim Voigt, Gary Ruzic, and Scott Bailen representing the Lion’s Club.

Sponsors of the event included Medical X-Ray Consultants, the First Weber Foundation, First Weber Realty of Neillsville, Schuster Campman Abstract & Title Co. LLC, Kraus-Anderson, Citizen’s State Bank, Gross Motors, Grassland Dairy, JoAnn Blum, Cathy Jean Clark, Mary Kay and Jim Mills, Gary and Kay Weirauch, Cummins, Farmer’s Daughter, Memorial Guild Gift Shoppe, Russell’s of Neillsville, Rustic Gardens, Shopko, S&S Distributors, Urban’s Sales and Service, Wegner CPA, Western Wisconsin Urology S.C., Wold Architects, and Xcel Energy.
