Boyd Man Enters Plea for Death of Chippewa Falls Woman

-A Boyd man charged for a crash that resulted in the death of a Chippewa Falls woman entered a plea in Chippewa County Court on Friday.Back in September of 2015, Gregg Irwin was driving his truck north on 300th Street when he failed to yield and hit a car, driven by 20-year-old Erica Strandt, heading west on Highway 29.
Irwin was charged with OWI, homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle and 2nd degree reckless homicide. Irwin was found guilty of OWI due to a no contest plea and pleaded guilty to homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle. He’ll be back in court in October for sentencing.
