Several groups of juveniles are facing charges in Clark County for illegally poaching deer.
According to the Lt. Conversation Warden, wardens in Clark, Eau Claire and Taylor County, along with the Loyal Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Department, were investigating poaching incidents after receiving reports of individuals shooting deer and then leaving them. The warden said they believe anywhere from 20-50 deer may have been shot. They also investigated a horse being shot in Clark County. The investigators were able to trace the shootings to several groups in juveniles in different communities throughout Clark County.
The investigation is still open, so the names of the juveniles and the exact charges can’t be released at this time. However, they are facing charges for hunting deer out of season, spotlighting, unsafely discharging a weapon and others.
