USDA Agricultural Prices Report

The April 2017 average price received by farmers for corn in Wisconsin was $3.40 per bushel, according to the latest USDA Agricultural Prices report.According to Wisconsin Ag Connection, this was down two-cents from the March price and nine-cents lower than April 2016. Soybeans averaged $9.30 per bushel, which was 45-cents lower than March, but 32-cents more than last year. The oat price was $2.53 per bushel--up a dime for the month and 88-cents higher for the year.
All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $87.00 per ton in April, up $2.00 from March, but down $6.00 from last April. The alfalfa hay price averaged $93.00 per ton, $2.00 more for the month, but $6.00 less than last year. The other hay price averaged $70.00, up $4.00 from March and $5.00 above April 2016
