May 2017 Clark County Board Resolutions

Saturday, May 27th, 2017 -- 9:09 AM

The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved, and denied, a few other resolutions involving the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center at their meeting on Thursday.

After passing the $7.5 million loan to be used for needed upgrades at the facility, the board then approved a resolution making amendments to the 2017 budget in regards to that loan. The $800,000 that was taken from the General Fund earlier this year for minor improvements at the facility was returned. There were also several other changes made that was described as government accounting.

The board then failed two resolutions that came before them in regards to the Rehabilitation and Living Center. The first would have put a referendum question about the facility on the ballot for the April 2018 election. The referendum would have asked county residents if the county board should consider spending $24.5 million on remodeling or expanding the facility. One county board member called that number “bogus” and said if this passes it will just cause us to “spin our wheels.” The 2nd was a resolution asking for a referendum question on the April 2018 ballot if the county should just sell the center.
