Black River Falls Man Arrested for 7th OWI Appears in Court

-A Black River Falls man arrested for his 7th OWI earlier this month appeared in Jackson County Court on Thursday.According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, they received a report of a suspicious man outside the Jackson County Prison waving a baseball bat. When authorities arrived, they discovered 52-year-old Kelly O’Brien driving a motorized bicycle holding a large flashlight. Deputies could smell alcohol on his breath and, after failing a sobriety test, O’Brien was arrested.
Probable cause was found during his preliminary hearing so his court proceedings will continue. He also entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him. His cash bond was also lowered to $100.
