Wednesday, May 17th, 2017 -- 8:05 AM
-The Granton Village Board heard an update on the campground at their meeting last week.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the village was able to locate fire rings for all of the campsites and a bulldozer from Marwood was rented and used to excavate the road at no cost to the village as the time was volunteered. Gravel was delivered on Monday May 8th and the road, cul-de-sac and 13 campsites were completed. The dirt was tilled in preparation for grass seed. Camp fire rings have been located for all sites with extras for the tent sights.
A quote for Porta Potties was received for $65 per month. This quote includes cleaning and emptying, but the board will look for other quotes. The board discussed the naming for the Road and Campground. The road will be named Homerun Road. The board debated on naming the campground and settled on Homerun Campground for now. Pricing was discussed and this summer rates will be $10 per night per camper and $5 per night per tent. The village will look into signage.
