Black River Falls Man Arrested for 7th OWI Appears in Jackson County Court

-A Black River Falls man was arrested for his 7th OWI earlier this month appeared in Jackson County Court on Monday.According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, they received a report of a suspicious man outside the Jackson County Prison waving a baseball bat. When authorities arrived, they discovered 52-year-old Kelly O’Brien driving a motorized bicycle holding a large flashlight. Deputies could smell alcohol on his breath and, after failing a sobriety test, O’Brien was arrested.
During his initial appearance, O’Brien requested a preliminary hearing. He also asked for a lower cash bond, which was approved by the judge and lowered from $250 to $200. He’ll be back in court next week.
