Medford Man Sentenced for High Speed Chase in Chippewa County

-A Medford man arrested after a high speed chase in Chippewa County was sentenced on Friday.Back in August, Daniel Drozda led Lake Hallie Police on a high speed chase. Officers tried to pull Drozda over, but he didn’t stop. The chase lasted for over 5 miles and reached speeds of 60mph. He eventually stopped, surrendered and he was arrested on 12 outstanding warrants.
Drozda was charged with vehicle operator flee/elude an officer, 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety, two counts of felony bail jumping and four counts of misdemeanor bail jumping. Back in February, he pleaded no contest to, and was found guilty of, the vehicle operator flee/elude an officer charge. The rest of the charges were dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to one year in prison and one year of extended supervision.
