54th Annual Mother's Day Art Fair Held on Sunday

(WDLB) -A Mother’s Day tradition continued in Marshfield on Sunday.The New Visions Art Gallery held its 54th annual Mother’s Day Art Fair, and it did so in a new location for the event. After decades at Marshfield High School, Gallery Director Bobbi Erwin said they decided to move this year's event to the Central Wisconsin State Fairgrounds a few miles to the south. Erwin says the event was starting to run out of space at the high school, and the fairgrounds will allow the art fair to grow in future years. And she says the first year at the fairgrounds has already allowed the event to grow, from just under 80 art exhibitors last year to nearly 90 this year.
Acrylic mixed media painter Carmen Duran of Stratford was back for her second Mother’s Day Art Fair, and as a relatively new artist. And the Mother’s Day Art Fair has special meaning to Carmen, because she's not just selling paintings. Duran donates a portion of her proceeds to pediatric cancer research and awareness, because she lost her daughter to brain cancer at the age of four. The Mother’s Day Art Fair also featured live entertainment, such as Marshfield's Main Street Conservatory of Dance.
