On Wednesday, MACC Fund Vice-Chairman and Granton native Kevin Steiner presented Marshfield Clinic with a check for 50-thousand dollars, to support a one-year grant for the Clinic’s pediatric cancer research efforts.WDLB in Marshfield reports that if you’ve listened to radio broadcasts of the Brewers or Bucks over the years, you’ve certainly heard of the MACC fund, which raises money for research into childhood cancer and rare blood disorders.
Steiner is hopeful the MACC Fund grant to the Clinic leads to an ongoing relationship between the two.
Retired Marshfield Clinic oncologist Dr. William Hocking spoke on behalf of the Marshfield Clinic Health System Foundation, which is receiving the MACC Fund award. And he said cancer treatments have come a long way, thanks in large part to continues research made possible through grants like the one received on Wednesday.
